Utah Breast and Cervical Cancer Program
The Utah Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Program (B&C) is a program within the Utah Department of Health and Human Services.
The Utah Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Program helps low-income, uninsured, and underinsured women gain access to timely breast and cervical cancer screening, diagnostic, and treatment services. B&C also provides patient navigation services to help women overcome barriers and get timely access to quality care.
In addition to funding screening and diagnostic services for eligible women, the B&C focuses on factors at the interpersonal, organizational, community, and policy levels that influence screening. B&C supports the use of population-based approaches to improve systems that increase high-quality breast and cervical cancer screening.
The goal of the Utah Breast & Cervical Screening Program (B&C) is to increase the number of Utah women who receive recommended breast and cervical cancer screenings. The program provides education to help Utah women learn how they can prevent cancer, understand the importance of early detection (finding cancer early), and link them with treatment resources.
B&C provides breast and cervical cancer screenings to Utah women aged 21-64 who are low income, uninsured, or underinsured. The program partners with local health departments, federally qualified health centers, and community clinics to provide Utah women access to affordable cancer screenings.
Utah's Breast and Cervical Program is funded by a grant from the CDC's National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP).
